Outer left-hand tie rod end designed as a direct-fit steering component for 1979–2003 Dodge and Plymouth vehicles. This replacement part secures the steering linkage to the steering knuckle, maintaining proper alignment and responsive steering. Built for durability with corrosion-resistant finishes and robust ball-and-socket construction, it restores precise steering feel and reduces play caused by worn OEM components. Ideal for routine maintenance or full restoration projects where reliable, long-lasting steering performance is required.
Features:
  • Fits 1979-2003 Dodge and Plymouth models — outer tie rod end, left-hand thread.
  • Direct-fit replacement for worn or damaged outer tie rod ends to restore steering precision.
  • Durable ball-and-socket joint with corrosion-resistant finish for long service life.
  • Pre-greased factory-style joint to reduce initial break-in and minimize maintenance.
  • Helps prevent uneven tire wear and improves vehicle tracking and handling.
  • Easy-to-install design that works with stock steering linkage and hardware.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes per side
Suggested Tools:
  • Jack and jack stands
  • Wheel chocks
  • Lug wrench
  • Socket set and ratchet
  • Open-end or adjustable wrench
  • Tie rod end puller or pickle fork
  • Torque wrench
  • Pliers
  • Grease gun (if applicable)
  • Marker or paint pen
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake, and block rear wheels.
  2. Loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly, then lift the vehicle and secure on jack stands. Remove the wheel.
  3. Locate the outer tie rod end at the steering knuckle. Use a marker to note the threaded position on the inner tie rod to preserve alignment settings.
  4. Loosen the jam nut on the inner tie rod and then unthread the outer tie rod end from the inner tie rod the required number of turns to match the new part to the marked position.
  5. Remove the cotter pin (if present) and loosen the castle nut securing the tie rod end to the steering knuckle.
  6. Use a tie rod end puller or pickle fork to separate the tie rod end stud from the steering knuckle. Avoid striking the knuckle directly to prevent damage.
  7. Fully unthread the old tie rod end from the inner tie rod and remove it.
  8. Thread the new left-hand outer tie rod end onto the inner tie rod to the previously marked position. Tighten the jam nut against the tie rod end per manufacturer torque specs.
  9. Insert the tie rod end stud into the steering knuckle, install the castle nut, and torque to specification. Install a new cotter pin if required.
  10. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque lug nuts to specification.
  11. Have a professional alignment performed after installation to ensure proper toe and prevent uneven tire wear.
