Inner tie rod end for 2010–2016 Ford and Lincoln vehicles. This critical steering component connects the rack-and-pinion to the outer tie rod, maintaining precise wheel alignment and responsive steering feel. Manufactured to OE-equivalent specifications with corrosion-resistant finishes and durable ball-joint construction, it restores steering geometry, reduces play, and improves safety. Ideal for maintenance, suspension repair, and restoration projects, this inner tie rod delivers long-lasting performance and straightforward installation for DIYers and professional technicians.
Features:
- Fits 2010–2016 Ford and Lincoln models (inner tie rod, right or left hand application).
- Engineered to OE-equivalent dimensions for proper steering alignment and fit.
- Durable ball-joint design with corrosion-resistant finish for long service life.
- Prevents steering play and vibration, improving vehicle handling and tire wear.
- Direct replacement for worn or damaged inner tie rods; ideal for restoration and maintenance.
- Designed for straightforward installation using common hand tools.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes per side
Instructions:
- Park on level ground, engage parking brake, and chock rear wheels.
- Loosen front wheel lug nuts, raise vehicle with a floor jack, and secure on jack stands. Remove the wheel.
- Locate the inner tie rod on the steering rack; apply penetrating oil to fasteners if needed.
- Mark the position of the outer tie rod relative to the inner tie rod or count the turns to preserve alignment reference.
- Remove the cotter pin and nut from the outer tie rod end, then separate the outer tie rod from the steering knuckle using a tie rod tool or pickle fork.
- Unscrew the outer tie rod from the inner tie rod (note the number of turns) and remove the inner tie rod boot clamp or retaining components to expose the inner tie rod connection.
- Remove the inner tie rod retaining nut or clamp at the steering rack. Use the appropriate inner tie rod tool to unscrew and remove the inner tie rod from the rack.
- Inspect the rack, boot, and surrounding components for damage or leaks; clean sealing surfaces.
- Install the new inner tie rod by threading it onto the rack to the specified engagement depth; tighten to the manufacturer's torque specification and reinstall any boot clamps.
- Reattach the outer tie rod using the previously noted alignment reference (or match the counted turns). Torque the outer tie rod nut to spec and install a new cotter pin if applicable.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the lug nuts to specification.
- Have a professional wheel alignment performed immediately after installation to ensure correct steering geometry and prevent uneven tire wear.
