Instructions:
- Open the door and carefully remove the existing weatherstrip by prying it out of the channel with a trim tool or screwdriver. Save any clips if reusable.
- Clean the sealing channel and flange thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or an appropriate cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt and oils. Allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new seal along the door perimeter to confirm orientation and length. Trim any excess with a utility knife as needed.
- If adhesive is recommended, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or the seal flange according to the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
- Starting at the top corner, press the seal into the channel and work your way around the door, firmly seating the flange into the retainer. Use even pressure to avoid twisting or pinching the seal.
- Reinstall any clips or fasteners removed earlier and trim any final excess material for a clean edge.
- Close and open the door several times to ensure proper fit and alignment. Wipe away any excess adhesive and allow adhesive to cure for the time specified by the adhesive manufacturer before exposing to moisture.
