The Precision Door Jam Wire Loom BDP 006-2 is a rugged, purpose-built wiring protector that secures and shields door-jam harnesses from abrasion, moisture, and pinch damage. Designed for use on most passenger cars, trucks and SUVs, it keeps wiring organized and routed safely through the hinge area where flexing and exposure can cause wear. Durable construction and a simple installation make it an ideal part for restoration projects and routine maintenance, restoring factory routing and improving long-term reliability of door electronics.
Features:
- Universal fit for most passenger cars, trucks and SUVs; designed for door-jam harness protection.
- Durable PVC/PE outer shell resists abrasion, moisture and UV exposure.
- Protects wiring from pinching and chafing where the door meets the body.
- Pre-formed profile keeps harness aligned and reduces stress on connectors.
- Easy to install for repair or restoration of factory wiring routes.
- Lightweight, corrosion-free material improves long-term reliability.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 15-45 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and disconnect the negative battery terminal to avoid accidental shorting.
- Open the door and locate the existing wire loom and grommet in the door jamb area.
- If required, remove the interior door panel or trim using a trim remover and screwdriver to access the harness and mounting points.
- Carefully disconnect any plug-in connectors that hinder removal of the old loom. Label connectors if needed for reassembly.
- Slide the old loom off the harness and inspect wires for damage; repair any exposed or frayed wires with heat-shrink or electrical tape.
- Route the new BDP 006-2 loom along the same path, ensuring the grommet or reinforced section aligns with the factory opening in the door jamb.
- Secure the loom with original clips or new cable ties, trimming excess tie length. Make sure the harness has free movement through the hinge without binding.
- Reconnect any electrical connectors, re-install trim panels, reconnect the battery, and cycle the door to verify correct operation of all door electronics.
