Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, disconnect the negative battery terminal, and lower the window (if operable) to a mid position.
- Remove the interior door panel: pry off trim pieces, remove fasteners and clips, then lift the panel away. Disconnect electrical connectors for switches.
- Carefully peel back the vapor barrier/membrane and set it aside without tearing if possible.
- Remove any bolts or clips securing the window regulator and lower the regulator assembly to gain access to glass mounting points.
- If old glass is present, use masking tape to secure any loose pieces, then loosen the fasteners that clamp the glass to the regulator and carefully lift the glass out of the door through the access opening.
- Clean the regulator channel and window channel of debris. Test-fit the new glass to ensure proper orientation (DT04501 CLN is sided for left or right use).
- Apply a small bead of silicone (if specified by vehicle manufacturer) to the channel where the glass seats. Carefully lower the new tempered glass into the door and engage it with the regulator clamps.
- Align the glass so it seats evenly in the run channel, then tighten the regulator fasteners to secure the glass. Reconnect any regulator components removed earlier.
- Reconnect the window switch and momentarily test window operation to confirm smooth travel and correct alignment. Adjust mounting as needed.
- Reinstall the vapor barrier, reposition the door panel, reconnect electrical connectors, and secure all fasteners and trim pieces.
- Reconnect the battery, operate the window through full travel to verify proper fit and seal, then clean the glass and check for wind noise or leaks.
