Precision Door Glass 4438 T GTN is a tempered replacement door glass available for either left- or right-hand installation. The green-tint glass reduces glare and helps block some UV, while tempered construction provides predictable breakage behavior for improved safety. Designed to match OE dimensions and fit into standard door regulator tracks, this glass is ideal for restorations and repairs where durable, reliable visibility is required.
Features:
- Tempered door glass for left- or right-hand installation (4438 T GTN specification).
- Green tint reduces glare and offers modest UV reduction for improved comfort.
- Tempered safety construction designed to shatter into small, less-hazardous fragments.
- Engineered to match OE dimensions for smooth fit into regulator tracks.
- Durable and scratch-resistant surface for long-lasting clarity.
- Ideal replacement for restoration projects and routine door glass repairs.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 60-90 minutes
Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface, disconnect the battery if the vehicle has powered windows, and wear safety glasses and gloves.
- Remove the interior door panel: pry off trim, remove screws and disconnect any electrical connectors (speakers, switches) as needed.
- Lower the window regulator so the glass mounting points are accessible, or position regulator to allow glass removal (manually move if necessary).
- If replacing broken glass, carefully remove all fragments using gloves and a vacuum; protect the door interior with shop towels.
- Loosen or remove the fasteners securing the glass to the regulator (bolts or clips) and carefully guide the old glass out of the regulator channel and up through the door frame.
- Clean the regulator channels and inspect rubber run channels for wear; replace or lubricate as needed before installing new glass.
- Carefully insert the new tempered glass into the door frame from the top, feeding it into the regulator channel and aligning it with the mounting points. Use painter's tape to temporarily support the glass if needed.
- Secure the glass to the regulator with the original fasteners, ensuring the glass sits squarely in the channel and moves smoothly when operated.
- Test the window operation slowly to confirm smooth travel and proper sealing; adjust alignment if the glass binds or rattles.
- Reinstall the interior door panel and any trim pieces, reconnect electrical connectors, and reconnect the battery if disconnected.
- Clean the glass with an automotive glass cleaner and inspect for secure fit and smooth operation.
