Precision Small Rear Window Glass, Tempered Clear 1036 T CLN is a durable, safety-grade replacement designed for small rear window openings. The tempered clear construction delivers improved impact resistance, optical clarity, and long-term durability, making it ideal for restoration or routine replacement projects. Confirm fitment dimensions before installation to ensure a proper seal and finish.
Features:
- Tempered clear glass for enhanced impact resistance and safety.
- Designed to restore original clarity and visibility for small rear windows.
- Precision-cut 1036 T CLN profile for consistent fit and finish.
- Resists chips and thermal stress better than annealed glass.
- Suitable for replacement and restoration applications; confirm vehicle fitment before purchasing.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 1–2 hours plus 24 hours adhesive cure time
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a flat surface and disconnect battery if removing trim with electrical components; wear safety glasses and gloves.
- Carefully remove interior trim and weatherstripping around the rear window to expose the glass flange or channel.
- If replacing existing glass, cut and remove the old adhesive or gasket and lift out the broken/old glass using suction cups; dispose of broken glass safely.
- Clean the mounting flange and remove all old adhesive, dirt, and sealant. Wipe surfaces with a suitable solvent and allow to dry.
- Apply urethane primer to metal or plastic as recommended by the adhesive manufacturer (if required) and allow proper flash time.
- Load urethane adhesive into a caulk gun and apply a continuous, even bead to the flange or pre-set channel following adhesive manufacturer recommendations.
- Using suction cups or handling grips, position the new 1036 T CLN tempered glass into the opening, pressing firmly to seat it into the adhesive bead and ensure an even seal.
- Temporarily secure the glass with painter's tape to maintain position and alignment while the adhesive begins to set.
- Reinstall trim and weatherstripping once the adhesive has begun to tack; follow full cure time (typically 24 hours) before driving.
- Check for leaks and proper fit after cure; if unsure about fitment or if vehicle uses a gasket system instead of urethane, consult a professional installer.
