Precision Rear Window Glass Tempered Clear 2720 S CLN is a tempered rear windshield engineered to restore rear visibility, safety, and structural integrity. The clear tempered glass offers excellent optical clarity and impact resistance—designed as a direct-fit replacement for compatible vehicles. It protects the cabin from weather and wind noise, meets safety breakage behavior (small blunt fragments), and provides long-lasting durability for repair or restoration projects.
Features:
- Tempered clear rear window glass for improved visibility and safety.
- Engineered as a direct-fit replacement for compatible rear windshield openings.
- High-strength tempered glass resists impact and shatters safely into small, blunt pieces.
- Provides weather sealing, reduces wind noise, and restores cabin integrity.
- Suitable for restoration, collision repair, or routine replacement applications.
- Durable, long-lasting construction for reliable day-to-day driving.
- Installs with urethane adhesive and standard auto glass tools; professional installation recommended for best results.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 1–2 hours (plus adhesive cure time: 24 hours recommended)
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and wear safety gear. Remove interior trim panels and any molding around the rear window.
- Carefully cut and remove the old adhesive from the pinch-weld using a utility knife or appropriate cutting tool, taking care not to damage the pinch-weld or paint.
- Clean the pinch-weld and surrounding surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol. Apply primer to the pinch-weld and to the glass bonding surface per adhesive manufacturer instructions; allow recommended flash time.
- Apply a continuous, even bead of urethane adhesive to the pinch-weld using a caulking gun. Ensure bead size matches original specification or adhesive manufacturer guidance.
- With two people, use suction cups to position the replacement glass into the opening. Press evenly to seat the glass into the urethane bead and verify even engagement around the perimeter.
- Reinstall exterior and interior trim pieces, and secure as required. Use masking tape to hold the glass in place if necessary while adhesive begins to set.
- Allow adhesive to cure for the manufacturer-recommended time (commonly 24 hours) before driving. Avoid slamming doors or exposing to heavy weather during cure.
- After cure, inspect the installation for leaks, proper fit, and trim alignment. Replace any removed hardware and clean the glass.
