Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, disconnect battery if working near powered rear defrosters or antennas, and wear safety gear.
- Remove interior trim, molding, and any clips or fasteners around the rear window to expose the glass perimeter.
- Carefully cut and remove the old glass by slicing through the existing urethane with a utility knife or cut-out tool; use suction cups to lift glass free.
- Clean the pinch weld and surrounding structure of old adhesive and contaminants using adhesive remover; ensure metal is dry and rust-free.
- Apply recommended urethane primer to the cleaned pinch weld and to the glass edge per primer manufacturer instructions; allow primer to flash as directed.
- Load urethane into caulking gun and apply a continuous, even bead on the pinch weld following vehicle manufacturer bead size specifications.
- Using suction cups, position the new rear glass onto the urethane bead, align carefully, then press firmly to seat the glass into the adhesive.
- Reinstall exterior and interior molding, secure any clips, and tape the glass in place as needed to maintain alignment during initial cure.
- Allow adhesive to cure per urethane manufacturer instructions (typically 24 hours before driving; check product for exact safe drive-away time).
- Reconnect any electrical connections, reinstall trim fully, and inspect seals for gaps or leaks once adhesive has cured.
