Tempered Green Rear Window Glass (1037 T GTN) is a direct-replacement rear windshield designed to restore vehicle safety, visibility, and exterior appearance after damage. The tempered green tint reduces glare and provides a factory-style look while the heat-treated construction increases impact resistance and breaks into small, blunt fragments for improved occupant safety. Finished edges and pre-cut dimensions simplify installation with standard urethane bonding, making this glass a durable, reliable option for restoration or maintenance projects.
Features:
- Tempered green safety glass for reduced glare and a factory-style appearance.
- Tempered construction increases impact resistance and breaks into safer fragments on failure.
- Precision-cut, finished edges prepared for urethane bonding—ready for installation.
- Restores structural integrity, weather sealing, and rearward visibility after windshield damage.
- Designed for restoration and replacement applications; durable and long-lasting.
- Works with standard rear-window fittings; compatible with common defroster/antenna configurations when applicable.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 1–2 hours (plus adhesive cure time; full adhesive cure typically 24 hours)
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and wear safety gear (gloves, eye protection).
- Remove interior trim and any exposed molding around the rear window to access the pinch weld.
- Carefully cut and remove remaining old adhesive using an appropriate cut-out tool or wire; lift out the damaged glass with suction cups if still present.
- Clean the pinch weld and surrounding flange thoroughly of old urethane, dirt, and rust; use solvent and a clean rag to ensure a dry, oil-free surface.
- Apply primer to the pinch weld and to the glass bonding area if recommended by the adhesive manufacturer; allow primer to flash as directed.
- Apply a continuous, properly sized bead of urethane adhesive to the pinch weld per adhesive instructions (follow manufacturer bead profile recommendations).
- With two people using suction cups, lift the new tempered rear glass and carefully position it over the opening; set the glass into the adhesive bead and align it to factory gaps and orientation.
- Press the glass evenly into the adhesive to ensure full contact; use masking tape to secure the glass in position while adhesive begins to cure.
- Reinstall interior trim and molding after the adhesive has set enough to hold the glass (follow adhesive handling time).
- Allow the urethane to reach its recommended full cure before driving (commonly 24 hours); avoid slamming doors or exposing the seal to water during initial cure.
- After full cure, inspect the fit, trim, and seals for proper installation and clean the glass surface.
