The Precision Rear Window Glass, Tempered Green 2720 S GTN is a direct-replacement rear windshield engineered to restore fit, visibility, and safety. Made from tempered, green-tinted automotive glass, it reduces glare while offering durable impact resistance and reliable sealing when installed with the proper urethane. This unit helps preserve cabin integrity, prevents water intrusion, and returns original appearance for restoration or maintenance projects. Tempered construction ensures the glass breaks into small, less-dangerous fragments in the event of severe impact.
Features:
- Tempered green rear window glass, part number 2720 S GTN.
- Direct-replacement design to restore original fit and finish.
- Green tint reduces glare and improves visual comfort.
- Tempered safety glass fractures into small granular pieces on breakage.
- Durable, scratch-resistant surface for long-lasting clarity.
- Restores proper sealing to prevent leaks and wind noise.
- Suitable for rear glass replacement and vehicle restoration projects.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 1–2 hours (plus 24 hours adhesive cure time)
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and disconnect battery if working near electronics. Wear safety glasses and gloves.
- Remove interior trim and rear moldings surrounding the glass to expose the urethane bead and pinch weld.
- Carefully cut and remove the old urethane using a cold knife, wire, or cut-out tool; remove any broken glass fragments and dispose safely.
- Clean the pinch weld thoroughly with a razor and solvent to remove old adhesive, dirt, and grease. Allow to dry.
- Apply recommended urethane primer to the pinch weld and the glass bonding area per primer manufacturer instructions. Allow proper flash time.
- Apply an even continuous bead of automotive-grade urethane to the pinch weld with a caulking gun. Follow vehicle-specific bead profile if known.
- With suction cups, position the new rear glass (2720 S GTN) and carefully lower it into place, aligning edges and pressing evenly to seat the glass into the urethane.
- Reinstall moldings and interior trim panels. Clean excess adhesive from glass and trim before it cures.
- Allow adhesive to cure per urethane manufacturer instructions (typically 24 hours) before driving. Perform a water leak check after cure.
- Dispose of old glass and materials according to local regulations and inspect installation for proper sealing and fit before use.
