Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and wear safety gear; disconnect vehicle battery if working near electrical trim.
- Remove interior trim, garnish molding, and any fasteners or clips around the rear glass using trim tools; set hardware aside in labeled containers.
- Carefully cut and remove the old sealant or rubber gasket around the glass with a putty knife or seal cutter; use a shop vacuum to remove debris.
- With suction cups attached, lift out the old glass straight out to avoid contact with the paint and body. Have an assistant if needed.
- Clean and prep the pinch weld and surrounding flange: remove old adhesive, rust, and contaminants; allow surface to dry.
- If using urethane: apply primer/activator to the prepared flange per adhesive manufacturer instructions. If using a rubber gasket, inspect and prepare the gasket channel.
- Apply a continuous bead of urethane adhesive to the flange or position the new rubber gasket per OEM procedure; avoid gaps in the adhesive bead.
- With suction cups, position the new tempered glass (tempered green face outward) into the opening. Press evenly to seat the glass into the adhesive or gasket channel.
- Reinstall moldings, trim, and fasteners. Use masking tape to hold the glass in place while adhesive cures (if applicable). Clean any excess adhesive.
- Allow adhesive to cure per manufacturer instructions before driving (typically 1–24 hours). Recheck for leaks and proper seal; reinstall interior trim and reconnect battery if disconnected.
