The Back-Up Lamp Lens – Pair – Pillowed Style is an OE-style reverse light lens set designed for 1971–1972 Chevrolet and GMC Fleetside pickup trucks, including C10, C20, C30, K10, K20, and K30 models, as well as 1969–1972 Blazer and 1970–1972 GMC Jimmy. These lenses feature the correct pillowed style optics used from the factory on 1971–1972 models.
The pillowed style lens refers to the slightly raised, segmented lens surface pattern introduced for the 1971–1972 model years. This is the factory-correct reverse light lens design for those years and differs from the earlier bullseye style used on 1967–1968 trucks. While these pillowed lenses are correct for 1971–1972 applications, they will physically fit 1967–1972 Fleetside truck housings, as well as 1969–1972 Blazer and 1970–1972 Jimmy models.
For restorers seeking factory accuracy, 1971–1972 truck and SUV builds should use the pillowed style lens. Owners of earlier models may choose based on personal preference, but correct OE-style restorations should match the lens pattern to the appropriate model year.
Manufactured as OE-style reproductions, these lenses match original dimensions, mounting tab configuration, and contour to ensure proper alignment within the factory reverse light housings. Accurate reproduction preserves correct rear lighting appearance and maintains the clean factory styling of late Action Line trucks and early K5/Jimmy models.
This listing includes a pair of lenses (LH and RH), providing complete replacement coverage for both sides.
Auto Metal Direct is a team of true car guys with years of experience in sheet metal reproduction, car restoration and paint/body work. We believe that quality is not subjective! Our mission is to provide the best customer experience for the Ford, Mopar and GM classic car markets - both in products and in service.
Our panels are made from proper gauge steel and include all correct-as-original clips, tabs, flanges, bends and seams. Each time a prototype body panel comes off of a new tooling, we test fit it on a car. The marked up prototype is then used to change and improve the tools, and a new prototype is produced. This procedure might be repeated multiple times but, once the part is finally approved, you can be assured of a quality part.
