Precision Glass Weatherstrip Lockstrip WLS 466 R-100 is a 100-foot roll of high-quality lockstrip designed to secure automotive glass in window channels. The product provides a positive wedging action between the glass and channel, preventing rattles, reducing wind noise, and ensuring smooth up-and-down movement. Built for durability and ease of use, the lockstrip helps restore factory fit and finish on classic and modern vehicles during window rebuilds or routine maintenance. Its consistent profile and resilient jacket resist wear and help maintain long-term sealing performance.
Features:
- 100 ft roll of universal glass lockstrip—suitable for window restoration and repair on a wide range of vehicles.
- Precision-formed locking bead grips glass securely to prevent rattle and lateral movement.
- Durable jacket resists abrasion and weathering for long service life.
- Flexible material conforms to curved glass and channel profiles for reliable sealing.
- Easy-to-cut spool format simplifies multiple repairs and full restorations.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30–60 minutes per window (varies by vehicle & experience)
Instructions:
- Measure the length of lockstrip needed by measuring the exposed edge of the glass or the inside of the channel; add a small allowance for trimming.
- Cut the lockstrip from the spool to the measured length with a sharp utility knife or heavy-duty scissors.
- Remove the door panel and window glass if required by your vehicle to access the channel, following vehicle-specific procedures.
- Clean the channel and glass edge of old adhesive, dirt, and debris using a solvent and shop towels; allow to dry.
- Lightly apply a glass-safe silicone lubricant to the channel and the inner surface of the lockstrip to aid installation.
- Position the glass approximately in the channel. Align the lockstrip bead with the glass edge so the locking lip faces the channel.
- Use needle-nose pliers or a rubber roller to press the lockstrip bead into the channel along the length of the glass, working slowly to ensure an even seat. Use a flat screwdriver or trim tool to help tuck the bead in tight where needed.
- Trim any excess lockstrip flush with the glass edge using a utility knife. Re-check seating and smooth any uneven areas.
- Operate the window up and down several times to seat the strip and ensure smooth operation and proper sealing.
- Reinstall the door panel and any removed hardware following vehicle-specific procedures.
