Instructions:
- Park on level ground, set parking brake and disconnect the negative battery terminal if recommended by vehicle procedures.
- Remove windshield wipers: lift arms, remove retaining nuts, and carefully remove wiper arms.
- Remove the cowl/grille or lower trim panels as needed to access the underside molding; keep track of fasteners and clips.
- Carefully pry up and remove the old underside molding. Use a plastic pry tool to avoid damaging paint or the windshield channel. Cut through any adhesive if present.
- Thoroughly clean the windshield channel and surrounding area with isopropyl alcohol or a dedicated weatherstrip cleaner. Remove old adhesive, dirt and debris and let dry.
- Test-fit the new molding to ensure proper alignment and clip engagement. If the molding is a snap-in type, align the retainers with the channel before seating.
- If needed, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel per adhesive instructions for added retention (optional).
- Press the new molding firmly into place along the entire length, ensuring all clips/retainers engage and the molding sits flush with the windshield and cowl.
- Reinstall the cowl/grille and any removed trim pieces, then reattach the windshield wiper arms and torque the retaining nuts to factory specification.
- Inspect the installation for gaps or misalignment, clean off any excess adhesive, and allow any adhesive to cure per manufacturer recommendations before driving.
