Instructions:
- Prepare the area: clean the lockstrip and surrounding channel with a rag to remove dirt, grease, and old adhesive.
- Remove old clip (if present): use a trim tool or pliers to pry out the existing clip carefully without damaging the lockstrip or trim.
- Test-fit the clip: position the LJC 1158 at the joint to ensure proper alignment and orientation with the lockstrip profiles.
- Align and insert: hold the two lockstrip ends together and slide the clip onto the mating profiles, ensuring it fully engages both sides.
- Seat the clip: use needle-nose pliers to squeeze any tabs if required, or tap gently with a rubber mallet to fully seat the clip into place.
- Check fitment: verify the trim sits flush and the joint is secure; adjust or re-seat the clip if necessary.
- Repeat as needed: install additional clips at recommended intervals along the joint for uniform support and vibration control.
