The Door Armrest Finger Cup – Metal – Pair is a premium OE-style interior restoration component designed for 1973–1979 Ford Dentside pickups and 1978–1979 Ford Bronco models. Developed using all-new tooling by Auto Metal Direct, these metal finger cups restore the correct look and feel of the factory armrest pull area, a high-touch interior detail that commonly shows wear, cracking, or deformation on original parts.
On Dentside Ford interiors, the armrest finger cup provides a functional and visual transition where occupants pull the door closed. Original components were prone to fatigue and surface damage after decades of use. AMD’s all-new reproduction addresses these issues with a precisely formed metal construction that mirrors the original profile and proportions, delivering a factory-correct appearance suited for high-quality classic truck restoration parts projects.
Manufactured from durable metal, these finger cups offer improved longevity while maintaining OE-style contours. The parts arrive in black, consistent with factory-style finishes, and are intended to be refinished to match original or custom interior colors with proper preparation. This makes them ideal for both stock restorations and color-matched interior builds where detail accuracy matters.
Designed specifically for Ford Dentside trucks, these finger cups are correct for F-Series pickups across multiple weight classes and for the first-generation full-size Bronco within the listed years. The shape, depth, and edge detail are engineered to integrate cleanly with original-style armrests, helping restore a finished, cohesive interior appearance.
As an AMD premium interior component, these finger cups reflect the brand’s commitment to all-new tooling, OE-style accuracy, and restoration-grade quality. They are well suited for replacing damaged originals during an interior refresh or completing a full cab restoration where authenticity and durability are priorities.
Auto Metal Direct is a team of true car guys with years of experience in sheet metal reproduction, car restoration and paint/body work. We believe that quality is not subjective! Our mission is to provide the best customer experience for the Ford, Mopar and GM classic car markets - both in products and in service.
Our panels are made from proper gauge steel and include all correct-as-original clips, tabs, flanges, bends and seams. Each time a prototype body panel comes off of a new tooling, we test fit it on a car. The marked up prototype is then used to change and improve the tools, and a new prototype is produced. This procedure might be repeated multiple times but, once the part is finally approved, you can be assured of a quality part.
