Each Set Includes:Important: The original 1955 265 V-8 engine did not come equipped with a block-mounted canister or spin-on oil filter. Instead, an optional remote-mounted oil filter was available that year.
If you're installing a later-model V-8 engine in your 1955 Chevy, you'll need to purchase the 1956?1957 Chevy bell housing bracket, which is designed with clearance for the canister or spin-on oil filter. Additionally, you'll need the 1956?1957 Chevy cross shaft "Z" bar bracket and 1956?1957 Chevy frame bracket.
Please note: the 1955 cross shaft pivot studs are 5/8" O.D., while the 1956?1957 pivot studs are 3/4" O.D.. This means the 1955 studs will not work with the later model bell housing or frame brackets.
