Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, switch off the vehicle, and protect painted surfaces with tape if needed.
- Carefully pry the trim away from the body using a plastic trim tool to expose the existing clips and mounting holes.
- Remove the damaged or worn clip by pulling straight out with pliers or prying gently with a screwdriver; clean the mounting hole and surrounding area with a rag and isopropyl alcohol.
- Inspect the mounting hole for deformation; if damaged, repair or replace the retainer area before installing the new clip.
- Align the new clip (1205 006) with the mounting hole and press it straight in until it snaps or seats flush. If necessary, tap lightly with a rubber mallet — avoid excessive force to protect paint.
- Re-seat the molding by aligning it with the installed clips and pressing evenly until it clicks into place on each clip.
- Verify the trim is flush and secure; check for gaps or movement and replace any additional clips as needed to restore full factory fit.
