Complete weatherstrip seal kit designed for 2nd Series models that use a weatherstrip trim groove. This kit replaces worn, cracked, or missing seals to restore proper door, window, and trim sealing—preventing water intrusion, reducing wind noise, and protecting interior surfaces. Components are made from weather-resistant rubber and durable trim pieces for long-lasting performance. Engineered as a direct-fit restoration solution, the kit improves reliability while remaining easy to install by a DIYer or professional.
Features:
- Fits 2nd Series models equipped with a weatherstrip trim groove (verify fit for your specific vehicle).
- Weather-resistant rubber seals with durable trim components for extended service life.
- Seals gaps around doors and trim to prevent water, dust intrusion and reduce wind noise.
- Direct-fit design simplifies replacement and speeds restoration projects.
- Ideal for restoration and maintenance to return factory weatherproofing and preserve interior condition.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 1-2 hours
Instructions:
- Test-fit all pieces to confirm correct placement and identify any trimming points before removing old seals.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip and any retaining clips from the trim groove, using a trim tool to avoid damaging metal or paint.
- Clean the groove and surrounding surfaces thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or a suitable solvent to remove old adhesive, dirt, and oils. Allow to dry.
- If adhesive is recommended for your application, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive into the groove following the adhesive manufacturer's directions.
- Starting at one end, press the new weatherstrip into the groove, aligning the trim lip and ensuring the seal seats fully. Use masking tape to hold sections in place if needed while adhesive sets.
- Trim any excess material with scissors or a utility knife for a neat finish—measure twice, cut once.
- Reinstall any trim pieces or clips removed earlier and ensure doors/windows close evenly and seals compress uniformly.
- Allow adhesive to cure per the adhesive instructions (if used) before exposing the vehicle to moisture or heavy use. Recheck fit and make minor adjustments as needed.
