A precision cowl seal clip kit designed to secure and align the cowl seal at the base of the windshield, preventing water ingress, wind noise, and corrosion. Intended for First Series applications (HCK 1110 47 specification), this kit supplies durable, corrosion-resistant clips that restore factory fitment and simplify seal installation during restoration or maintenance. The clips provide reliable long-term retention and help maintain proper body-to-glass sealing for classic vehicles.
Features:
- Fits First Series vehicles — HCK 1110 47 specification.
- Durable, corrosion-resistant metal clips for long-lasting retention.
- Secures cowl seal to prevent water leaks, wind noise, and rust.
- OEM-style fit for accurate alignment during restoration or replacement.
- Easy to install with basic hand tools; ideal for classic vehicle maintenance.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park on level ground and ensure the work area is clean and dry. Wear safety gloves.
- Remove the old cowl seal and any remaining clips by prying gently with a trim tool or screwdriver; use penetrating lubricant on corroded clips if needed.
- Clean the cowl flange and seal channel with a wire brush or rag to remove rust, dirt, and old adhesive.
- Inspect the new clips and the replacement seal for correct orientation and fit.
- Position the cowl seal into its channel, aligning it evenly along the windshield base.
- Starting at one end, slide or snap each clip over the seal lip and into the cowl flange. Use pliers or a rubber mallet to seat clips firmly if required, taking care not to deform the seal.
- Continue installing clips at regular intervals per OEM spacing until the full length is secured.
- Trim any excess seal material if necessary and apply a light rust inhibitor to the exposed metal.
- Check the fit visually and test for gaps. Reinstall any removed trim or hardware and verify there are no water leaks after the next wash or light spray test.
