Tempered door glass (green tint) designed as a direct-fit replacement for left or right hand vehicle doors. This laminated safety glass (part number 4236 S GTN) restores window clarity, reduces glare, and provides durable, shatter-resistant protection in the event of impact. Ideal for restoration or maintenance projects, the glass is engineered for reliable operation within factory window tracks and seals, delivering long-term durability and smooth window movement. Verify vehicle fitment before purchase to ensure compatibility.
Features:
- Fits left or right hand door applications; verify fitment for your vehicle before ordering.
- Made from tempered safety glass with a factory-style green tint for reduced glare and UV filtering.
- Designed to ride cleanly in door regulator tracks to reduce rattles and vibration.
- Durable, shatter-resistant construction improves occupant safety compared to non-tempered alternatives.
- Great for restoration and replacement projects—restores original appearance and window function.
- Straightforward installation using existing door hardware and seals; compatible with most OEM regulators.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 45-90 minutes
Instructions:
- Safety first: wear gloves and safety glasses. Disconnect the vehicle battery to avoid accidental power-window operation.
- Remove the door trim panel and any water/vapor barrier to access the interior of the door. Keep fasteners organized.
- Carefully lower or raise the window regulator to position the regulator clamps or bolts where the glass can be accessed and removed.
- If the existing glass is broken, remove loose pieces carefully and vacuum the interior of the door to clear debris.
- Loosen and remove the fasteners or clips securing the old glass to the regulator. With the regulator positioned to accept the new glass, have an assistant help lift the new glass into the door from the top.
- Seat the new glass into the regulator channels, aligning it in the window tracks and reattach fasteners/clips. Use tape or a helper to hold the glass in position while tightening.
- Operate the window to verify smooth travel and proper seating in the seals. Adjust regulator bolts and glass alignment as needed to prevent binding or wind noise.
- Reinstall the water/vapor barrier, trim panel, and all hardware. Reconnect the battery and perform a final function and seal check.
- Clean the glass and inspect door seals. Dispose of any broken glass and packaging per local regulations.
