Instructions:
- Remove the door panel or trim as needed to access the weatherstrip channel and gently pry out the old seal using a trim tool.
- Clean the channel and surrounding metal thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or appropriate cleaner to remove old adhesive, grease, and debris; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new DWR 1110 78 right-hand seal along the door edge to confirm alignment and any trimming points.
- If using adhesive, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or to the seal per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
- Starting at the top hinge area, press the new seal into the channel and work around the door, seating the seal firmly into place; use masking tape to hold sections if needed while adhesive sets.
- Trim any excess material with a utility knife for a neat finish and tap the seal gently with a rubber mallet to ensure full contact.
- Allow adhesive to cure for the recommended time, remove any holding tape, reattach interior trim or door panel, and test the door for proper closure and sealing.
- Check for leaks and wind noise on initial test drive; re-seat any sections if necessary.
