Direct-fit liftgate weatherstrip engineered for 1984-1990 Ford Bronco II models. This precision-molded rubber seal replaces worn or damaged liftgate seals to restore a tight, weatherproof closure. It prevents water intrusion, reduces wind noise and vibration, and preserves interior trim and cargo area from dirt and moisture. Durable EPDM construction resists ozone, UV and temperature extremes for long-term reliability, and the OEM-style profile ensures proper alignment and a factory appearance with straightforward installation.
Features:
- Fits 1984-1990 Ford Bronco II liftgate applications (direct replacement).
- Made from durable EPDM rubber for long-lasting resistance to weather, UV and temperature changes.
- Restores factory seal: prevents water leaks, wind noise and dust intrusion around the liftgate.
- OEM profile and dimensions for correct alignment and secure closure.
- Easy to install: push-in or adhesive application depending on original mounting method.
- Ideal for restoration or routine replacement to maintain vehicle value and interior protection.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-45 minutes
Instructions:
- Open the liftgate and support it securely so you can work comfortably around the seal channel.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip by peeling it away from the channel; use a trim tool to release any clips or retainers if present.
- Remove remaining adhesive and debris from the channel using a scraper or cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol; ensure the surface is clean and dry.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip along the channel to confirm orientation and length; trim any excess with scissors or a utility knife so the seal fits flush at the ends.
- If the vehicle originally used adhesive, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or back of the seal per the adhesive manufacturer's directions. If the seal is a push-in type, skip adhesive unless extra retention is desired.
- Starting at one end, press the weatherstrip firmly into the channel, engaging any bulb, lip or clip features fully into the flange. Work around the perimeter, smoothing as you go to avoid twists or gaps.
- Close the liftgate slowly to check for proper alignment and even compression of the seal; make minor adjustments as needed before adhesive sets.
- Allow adhesive to cure per product instructions (if used), then recheck closure, trim any final excess, and clean any adhesive residue.
