This rear window weatherstrip is a direct-fit replacement designed for 1961-1965 Ford Ranchero models with rear glass installations that do not use a trim groove. It seals the perimeter of the rear window to prevent water intrusion, wind noise and rattling while cushioning the glass. Made from durable, ozone- and UV-resistant rubber, the seal restores factory appearance and long-term reliability for restoration or maintenance projects and installs with basic hand tools.
Features:
- Fits 1961-1965 Ford Ranchero rear window applications (without trim groove).
- Constructed from durable, UV- and ozone-resistant rubber for long life.
- Provides a tight seal to prevent water leaks, wind noise, and vibration.
- OE-style profile for proper glass alignment and restored factory appearance.
- Easy to install with basic tools; ideal for restoration and replacement projects.
- No trim groove design fits vehicles where the glass is seated directly into the rubber channel.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and remove interior trim panels as needed to access the rear glass edge.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip: use a trim tool and razor blade to cut away degraded rubber, taking care not to damage the glass or body channel.
- Clean the glass edge and body channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth. Remove old adhesive and debris.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip around the glass to verify orientation and fit. The seal is designed for applications without a trim groove.
- Apply a thin layer of soapy water or silicone lubricant to the rubber bead to ease installation. If the original used adhesive, apply appropriate weatherstrip adhesive to the channel per adhesive instructions.
- Seat the seal starting at one corner and work around the perimeter, pressing the bead fully into the channel so the glass seats evenly. Use masking tape to hold sections in place if needed while adhesive cures.
- Trim any excess material if necessary and reinstall interior trim panels.
- Allow any adhesive to cure per manufacturer directions, then check for proper seating and test for leaks.
