Precision Molding Clip Kit, Lower Windshield (9-piece set PCK-1099-80-LW) provides a direct-replacement solution for worn or broken lower windshield molding clips. These snap-in clips secure the lower glass molding to the body, restoring proper fit and alignment to prevent wind noise, water intrusion, and vibration. Manufactured from durable, UV-resistant engineered polymer, the kit offers long-lasting corrosion resistance and consistent retention force for reliable performance. Ideal for restoration or routine maintenance where original-style fastening is required — verify vehicle fitment before installation.
Features:
- 9-piece kit designed for lower windshield molding replacement (PCK-1099-80-LW).
- Injection-molded, UV-resistant polymer resists corrosion and weathering.
- Secures lower windshield molding to reduce wind noise, vibration, and leaks.
- Snap-in design for a clean, factory-like fit and fast replacement.
- Durable construction supports long-term restoration and maintenance needs.
- Restores original alignment of the molding to protect glass and body trim.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, set parking brake, and wear gloves and eye protection.
- Carefully remove the lower windshield molding: use a plastic trim tool to pry along the molding length and lift it away from the channel without bending it.
- Remove any remaining old clips or broken plastic from the channel. Use needle-nose pliers to extract damaged clip remnants.
- Clean the molding channel and mating surfaces with rubbing alcohol or a mild cleaner; allow to dry.
- Test-fit new clips onto the molding or into the channel to confirm orientation and spacing before final installation.
- Lightly lubricate the clip barbs with silicone lubricant or soapy water to ease insertion.
- Align the molding, then press it into the channel while seating each clip until it snaps into place. Ensure clips are fully engaged and the molding sits flush.
- Trim or adjust any excess molding and inspect the seal for gaps. Reinstall any surrounding trim pieces and check for wind noise or leaks after installation.
