Instructions:
- Remove the old weatherstrip: carefully pry out any retaining clips and pull the old seal free from the roof rail channel.
- Clean the channel thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or isopropyl cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt and grease; allow to dry.
- Dry-fit the new seal along the channel to confirm fit and determine if any trimming is required; mark trim points if needed.
- If adhesive is recommended, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive in the channel following the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
- Starting at one end, press the new weatherstrip into the channel, engaging the reinforced spine and ensuring the seal seats evenly along the rail.
- Use masking tape or spring clamps to hold the seal in place while adhesive sets (if used). Remove excess adhesive promptly with a clean cloth.
- Trim any excess material with scissors or a utility knife for a clean finish, then inspect the seal for full contact and gaps.
- Allow adhesive to cure per product instructions, then test by pouring a small amount of water on the roof (or performing a road/noise test) to confirm a watertight, quiet seal.
