Instructions:
- Open the tailgate and remove the old weatherstrip by gently prying it out of the channel using a trim tool or flathead screwdriver.
- Clean the channel and surrounding area thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or a degreaser and a clean cloth; remove all old adhesive and debris.
- Test-fit the new seal along the channel to verify orientation and length. Trim excess with a utility knife if necessary.
- If adhesive is recommended, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive into the channel or onto the seal per the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
- Press the seal firmly into the channel, working from one end to the other to ensure full seating and even compression. Use masking tape or clamps to hold the seal in place while adhesive cures, if used.
- Allow adhesive to cure per product instructions (typically 30 minutes to several hours), then cycle the tailgate open and closed to check fit and sealing.
