The Precision Transmission Case Boot BDK 3110 61 is a durable replacement boot designed to seal transmission case openings and protect internal linkages from dirt, moisture, and road debris. Constructed from resilient synthetic rubber, it restores a tight seal to prevent leaks and reduce contamination that can accelerate wear. Ideal for routine maintenance and restoration projects, this boot improves reliability and extends transmission component life. Confirm part number BDK 3110 61 for correct fitment with your vehicle's transmission model.
Features:
- High-quality synthetic rubber construction resists oil, heat, and road contaminants.
- Seals transmission case openings to prevent fluid leaks and contamination.
- Restoration-ready replacement that restores factory sealing and fitment.
- Simple removal-and-replace design for quick serviceability.
- Durable material maintains flexibility and sealing performance over time.
- Helps reduce drivetrain wear and prolong transmission component life.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park on level ground, engage parking brake, and safely lift and support the vehicle with jack stands or use a lift. Wear safety gear.
- Locate the transmission case boot (where linkage/rod enters the transmission). Consult service manual for exact location and procedure for your vehicle.
- If necessary, loosen or remove any components that obstruct access to the boot (shift linkage retaining clips, brackets).
- Carefully remove clamps or fasteners securing the old boot. Use pliers or a screwdriver as needed and retain any reusable hardware you plan to reuse.
- Slide the old boot off the shaft/rod. Inspect the shaft, seals, and mating surfaces for wear, corrosion, or damage. Clean the area with a rag and solvent cleaner.
- Position the new boot over the shaft/rod and seat it into the transmission case recess. Ensure the boot lip sits fully in the groove or flange designed to hold it.
- Secure the boot with appropriate clamps or fasteners. Use new clamps or manufacturer-recommended clamps/zip-ties if the originals are damaged.
- Reinstall any components removed for access and confirm linkage movement is free and correctly aligned.
- Lower the vehicle, start and shift through gears to verify correct operation, then check for leaks around the boot area. Top off transmission fluid if any was lost during service.
