Instructions:
- Open the door and remove the old upper weatherstrip by gently prying it out of the channel with a trim tool; take care not to damage the paint or trim.
- Clean the mounting channel thoroughly of old adhesive, dirt and sealant using isopropyl alcohol and a rag; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new left and right seals to confirm orientation and fit before applying adhesive.
- Apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or back of the seal per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
- Position the seal into the channel, starting at one end and pressing firmly along the length to seat it fully and align end points.
- Temporarily secure the seal with masking tape or spring clamps where needed and trim any excess material with a utility knife for a neat finish.
- Allow the adhesive to cure for the time recommended by the adhesive manufacturer, then remove tape/clamps and operate the door to confirm smooth closing and proper sealing.
