A chrome left-hand vent window locking handle kit designed to restore secure, vibration-free operation to vent windows. The polished chrome finish provides an authentic appearance for restorations while the robust metal construction and precision locking cam deliver reliable long-term performance. This kit is intended as a direct replacement for worn or damaged LH vent window handles, improving sealing and ease of use with a simple, fast installation.

Installation / Application:

Suggested Tools:
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Flat-blade screwdriver or trim tool
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Small socket or wrench set (as needed for retainer fastener)
  • Clean rag and mild cleaner
  • Lubricant (light machine oil or silicone spray)
Instructions:
  1. Open the vent window and locate the handle retainer (screw, clip, or nut) on the interior side of the handle.
  2. Remove any trim or access panel if required to reach the retainer using a flat-blade screwdriver or trim tool.
  3. Carefully remove the retainer (screw/clip) with the appropriate tool and slide the old handle off the shaft; use needle-nose pliers if necessary to remove clips.
  4. Inspect the handle shaft, bore, and surrounding sealing surfaces. Clean away dirt, old grease, or corrosion with a rag and mild cleaner.
  5. If needed, apply a light lubricant to the shaft and the new handle bore to ease installation and ensure smooth operation.
  6. Align the new locking handle on the shaft so the locking cam engages the vent window mechanism, then slide the handle into place.
  7. Secure the handle with the supplied fastener(s) or the original retainer, tightening snugly but avoiding over-torquing which can distort components.
  8. Operate the vent window several times to confirm smooth locking/unlocking action and that the window seals properly. Reinstall any trim or access panels.
