Direct-replacement cancelling cam guide springs engineered for 1969-1999 GM cars and trucks. These precision-formed springs restore the tension and alignment inside the turn signal switch so the cancelling cam reliably snaps the stalk back to center after a turn. Manufactured from hardened spring steel with a corrosion-resistant finish, they deliver long-lasting performance, reduced play, and consistent switch feel — ideal for restoring vintage columns or maintaining daily drivers. Compact and durable, these guide springs help prevent premature switch wear and ensure predictable turn-signal cancellation.

Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on a level surface, set the parking brake and disconnect the negative battery cable. If the vehicle has an airbag, follow the manufacturer’s airbag safety/removal procedures before proceeding.
  2. Remove the steering column trim/shrouds by unscrewing retaining screws and gently prying apart the halves with a trim tool.
  3. If necessary, remove the steering wheel to access the turn signal switch assembly (use a steering wheel puller if required by your model).
  4. Locate the turn signal switch and cancelling cam assembly. Note the orientation of the switch and cam before removal so reassembly matches the original position.
  5. Remove retaining screws or clips securing the switch, then carefully withdraw the switch assembly to expose the cancelling cam guide springs.
  6. Using needle-nose pliers, remove the old guide springs and inspect the cancelling cam and switch for wear or damage. Clean contact surfaces and apply a light plastic-safe lubricant where applicable.
  7. Install the new guide springs in the same orientation as the originals, ensuring they seat properly in the cam grooves and provide firm but free movement of the cancelling cam.
  8. Reinstall the switch assembly and fasten retaining hardware. Reassemble the steering column shrouds and, if removed, reinstall the steering wheel (torque to factory specification).
  9. Reconnect the negative battery cable, start the vehicle, and test turn signal operation and cancellation at low-speed turns to confirm correct function.
