This replacement lower right rear cab corner repair panel is engineered to restore the damaged or corroded corner of 1973-1979 Ford Pickup Supercab trucks. Designed to re-establish structural support, correct panel alignment, and seal the cab against water intrusion, the panel provides a durable foundation for finishing and painting. Manufactured from heavy-gauge steel with OE-style contours, it offers reliable fitment and long-term corrosion resistance when properly installed and protected. Ideal for restorations and collision repairs, this repair panel simplifies the process of returning your Supercab to factory-like condition.
Features:
  • Fits 1973-1979 Ford Pickup Supercab — lower right (passenger-side) rear cab corner.
  • Heavy-gauge steel construction with factory-style contours for accurate fit and durability.
  • Restores structural integrity and panel alignment while preventing water intrusion and further rust.
  • Direct-fit replacement designed for welding or adhesive bonding in common body repair workflows.
  • Pre-formed shape reduces trimming and shaping time for faster, cleaner installations.
  • Perfect for restoration, collision repair, and long-term maintenance of classic Ford pickups.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 2-4 hours
Suggested Tools:
  • Angle grinder or cutoff wheel
  • Spot-weld cutter or drill
  • MIG or TIG welder (or appropriate welding method)
  • Clamps and locking pliers
  • Hammer and dolly
  • Grinder and flap disc
  • Measuring tape and marker
  • Rust converter/metal prep and primer
  • Seam sealer and paint
  • Safety gear (gloves, eye protection, respirator)
Instructions:
  1. Inspect the existing damage and mark cut lines to remove the corroded or deformed section, preserving any good metal.
  2. Use a spot-weld cutter or drill to separate factory seams as needed, then cut out the damaged area with an angle grinder or cutoff wheel.
  3. Clean and prepare surrounding metal—remove rust, paint, and debris; treat remaining metal with rust converter or metal prep.
  4. Test-fit the new repair panel, checking alignment with adjacent panels and body lines; trim or adjust as necessary for a snug fit.
  5. Clamp the panel into place and ensure proper gaps and fitment; use plugging/plug welds, tack welds, or adhesive bonding per your repair method.
  6. Fully weld the panel along seams using short, controlled welds to minimize heat distortion; allow metal to cool between welds.
  7. Grind welds smooth and use a hammer and dolly to correct any minor distortion; re-check fitment and panel gaps.
  8. Apply a corrosion-inhibiting primer to all bare metal and welded areas, then seam seal joints to prevent moisture intrusion.
  9. Finish with body filler where required, sand to final contour, prime, and paint to match the vehicle.
  10. Reinstall any removed components, inspect the repair for structural soundness and finish quality, and perform a final corrosion-proofing treatment inside cavities if accessible.
