Outer left-hand tie rod end for 1994–1997 Dodge trucks and SUVs. This replacement tie rod end connects the steering rack to the steering knuckle, maintaining proper alignment, steering responsiveness, and vehicle safety. Built for durability and reliable performance, it restores secure steering linkage and reduces play, vibration, and uneven tire wear. Precision threads (1"-18 LH) ensure correct fit and easy installation for restoration or routine steering system maintenance.
Features:
  • Fits 1994-1997 Dodge models (outer left-hand tie rod end, 1"-18 LH thread)
  • Left-hand (LH) outer tie rod end designed to restore correct steering geometry
  • Durable steel construction with corrosion-resistant finish for long service life
  • Replaces worn or damaged tie rod ends to eliminate steering play and uneven tire wear
  • Direct-fit replacement for straightforward repair or restoration projects
  • Greaseable socket (where applicable) for ongoing maintenance and extended life
  • Threaded 1"-18 LH connection for accurate, secure attachment to inner tie rod
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 45-90 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Floor jack and jack stands
  • Lug wrench
  • Wrench set or socket set (including 1" or appropriate size)
  • Tie rod end puller or pickle fork
  • Torque wrench
  • Pliers or needle-nose pliers
  • Marker or paint pen (to mark alignment)
  • Grease gun (if greaseable)
Instructions:
  1. Park on level ground, engage parking brake, and loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly.
  2. Raise the vehicle with a floor jack and secure it on jack stands. Remove the front wheel.
  3. Locate the outer left tie rod end. Mark the position of the jam nut and count the number of exposed threads or mark the end of the inner tie rod so reassembly retains approximate toe setting.
  4. Remove the cotter pin (if present) from the castle nut on the tie rod end and loosen/remove the nut with an appropriate socket or wrench.
  5. Use a tie rod end puller or pickle fork to separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle. Avoid striking the steering knuckle directly to prevent damage.
  6. Loosen the jam nut and unscrew the old outer tie rod end from the inner tie rod, counting turns or using your marks to match the original position.
  7. Thread the new left-hand outer tie rod end onto the inner tie rod to the marked position. Hand-tighten the jam nut against the tie rod end.
  8. Insert the tie rod stud into the steering knuckle and tighten the castle nut to the manufacturer's specified torque. Install a new cotter pin if required.
  9. Tighten the jam nut to secure the assembly, and grease the joint if the new part has a grease fitting.
  10. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the wheel lug nuts to specification.
  11. Because minor toe changes can occur, have a professional wheel alignment performed after replacement to ensure proper tire wear and handling.
