Direct-fit 3-groove pitman arm designed for 1999–2019 Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC and Hummer trucks and SUVs. This heavy-duty steering arm transfers motion from the steering box to the center link, maintaining correct steering geometry and eliminating play. Forged and heat-treated for long life, the part resists wear, restores steering precision, and is a straight bolt-on replacement for worn or damaged pitman arms. Ideal for routine steering system maintenance, restoration projects, or performance upgrades where reliable steering response is required.

Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level ground, set parking brake, and chock wheels. Disconnect battery if preferred for safety.
  2. Raise the front of the vehicle and support on jack stands to access the steering components.
  3. Remove the nut securing the pitman arm to the steering box output shaft. Apply penetrating oil and use a breaker bar if needed.
  4. Separate the pitman arm from the center link or drag link using a tie rod separator or appropriate puller tool.
  5. Use a pitman arm puller to remove the old pitman arm from the steering box output shaft. Avoid hammering directly on steering components.
  6. Inspect the steering box splines and center link components for wear or damage; replace other worn components as needed.
  7. Align the new pitman arm splines with the steering box output shaft and press or slide it into position. A light tap with a hammer on a protective block may help seat it.
  8. Install and torque the retaining nut to the manufacturer's specification using a torque wrench.
  9. Reconnect the center link or drag link and torque fasteners to spec. Verify steering wheel alignment and check for proper steering travel.
  10. Lower the vehicle, perform a road test, and have a professional alignment performed if necessary.
