High-quality replacement inner tie rod end (second design, 14 mm at TRE) engineered for 2006–2008 Chevrolet, GMC and Isuzu rear-wheel-drive trucks and SUVs equipped with coil spring suspension. This inner tie rod end restores proper steering geometry and connection between the steering rack and outer tie rod, helping eliminate play, reduce wandering, and improve vehicle handling and safety. Constructed from durable materials with precision threads and a corrosion-resistant finish, it provides long-lasting reliability and is designed for straightforward installation as part of a steering system repair or restoration.
Features:
  • Fits 2006–2008 Chevrolet, GMC and Isuzu RWD vehicles with coil spring suspension (inner tie rod end, 2nd design, 14 mm at TRE).
  • Direct-fit replacement for the inner right or left hand tie rod in compatible models — restores steering linkage geometry.
  • 14 mm threaded connection at the tie rod end for secure, OEM-style fitment and alignment.
  • Durable steel construction with corrosion-resistant coating for extended service life in road conditions.
  • Helps reduce steering play, vibration, and tire wear — ideal for steering system maintenance or restoration.
  • Designed for ease of installation with common hand tools; replacement recommended when inner tie rod shows play or boot damage.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes per side
Suggested Tools:
  • Jack and jack stands or vehicle lift
  • Wheel chocks
  • 16–21 mm wrenches and sockets (varies by vehicle)
  • 14 mm wrench or socket for TRE connection
  • Tie rod puller or pickle fork
  • Adjustable wrench
  • Torque wrench
  • Pliers
  • Tape measure or caliper
  • Marker or paint pen
  • Grease (if applicable)
  • Shop rags
Instructions:
  1. Park the vehicle on a level surface, engage parking brake and place wheel chocks behind the rear wheels.
  2. Loosen the front wheel lug nuts slightly, jack up the vehicle and support it securely on jack stands.
  3. Remove the front wheel to access the tie rod assembly.
  4. Locate the inner tie rod and mark the position of the outer tie rod on the threaded portion to preserve alignment.
  5. Loosen and remove the outer tie rod lock nut and separate the outer tie rod from the steering knuckle using a tie rod puller or pickle fork.
  6. If applicable, remove any steering rack boot clamps and slide the boot back to expose the inner tie rod-to-rack connection.
  7. Use the appropriate wrench or inner tie rod tool to unthread and remove the old inner tie rod from the steering rack.
  8. Inspect the steering rack seal, boot and surrounding components; replace any damaged parts before installing the new unit.
  9. Thread the new inner tie rod onto the steering rack to the specified engagement depth and torque per vehicle specification.
  10. Reposition and secure the rack boot with new clamps if removed, then thread the outer tie rod onto the new inner tie rod to the previously marked position.
  11. Tighten the outer tie rod lock nut to the specified torque and reattach any cotter pins if applicable.
  12. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, torque lug nuts to factory spec, and check steering operation.
  13. Have a professional wheel alignment performed to ensure proper toe settings and prevent premature tire wear.
