Inner right/left hand tie rod end designed for 2012–2019 Ford vehicles. This precision-engineered steering component connects the steering rack to the outer tie rod, maintaining accurate steering geometry and ensuring responsive, safe vehicle handling. Built from hardened steel with corrosion-resistant coating and a sealed ball joint, it restores factory steering feel, reduces play, and extends service life. Ideal for steering system repairs and restorations where durability, reliability, and correct alignment are required.
Features:
  • Fitment: 2012–2019 Ford vehicles (common fit for F-150, F-250, F-350 and select Ford trucks/SUVs) — verify exact part number for your model and year.
  • Material: Hardened steel construction with corrosion-resistant finish for long service life.
  • Function: Replaces worn inner tie rod end to restore steering precision and reduce play.
  • Durability: Sealed ball joint design keeps contaminants out and extends component life.
  • Ease of use: Direct-fit replacement with OE-style design for straightforward installation.
  • Application: Ideal for steering system repairs, alignment maintenance, and vehicle restoration projects.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 45-90 minutes per side
Suggested Tools:
  • Jack and jack stands
  • Wheel chocks
  • Lug wrench
  • Tie rod puller or pickle fork
  • Adjustable wrench or tie rod end socket
  • Torque wrench
  • Marker or paint pen
  • Pliers
  • Grease (if required)
  • Safety glasses and gloves
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake, and chock rear wheels.
  2. Loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly, lift the front of the vehicle with a jack, and secure with jack stands. Remove the wheel.
  3. Locate the inner tie rod connected to the steering rack and the outer tie rod. Mark the position of the outer tie rod on the threaded portion to preserve alignment reference.
  4. Remove the cotter pin and castle nut (if present) from the outer tie rod end. Separate the outer tie rod from the steering knuckle using a tie rod puller or pickle fork.
  5. Unscrew the outer tie rod from the inner tie rod enough to access the inner tie rod connection to the steering rack. Note the number of turns removed or count threads for reference.
  6. Remove any retaining clip or lock nut securing the inner tie rod to the steering rack. Use an inner tie rod tool or appropriate wrench to unthread the inner tie rod from the steering rack.
  7. Compare the new inner tie rod to the removed part to confirm correct orientation and length. Apply thread locker or grease per vehicle recommendations.
  8. Install the new inner tie rod into the steering rack and tighten to the manufacturer’s torque specification. Reinstall the retaining clip or lock nut if applicable.
  9. Reattach the outer tie rod to the new inner tie rod using the previous thread count or alignment marks as a starting point. Reinstall the outer tie rod onto the steering knuckle and torque the nut to spec; install a new cotter pin if required.
  10. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque wheel lug nuts to specification.
  11. Because tie rod replacement affects steering alignment, have a professional wheel alignment performed immediately after installation.
