Instructions:
- Remove the old vent seals and any trim necessary to access the seal channel. Use a trim tool or screwdriver carefully to avoid damage.
- Peel away old adhesive and rubber. Clean the channel and surrounding area thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or a suitable solvent and a clean rag; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new seals (CWK 1116 81) into place without adhesive to confirm orientation and length. Trim any excess if necessary for a precise fit.
- Apply a thin, even coat of weatherstrip contact adhesive to both the channel and the mating surface of the new seal per adhesive manufacturer instructions.
- Allow the adhesive to flash as directed (typically a few minutes) then align the seal and press it into the channel starting at one end and working to the other.
- Use a rubber roller or a firm block to press the seal firmly into place, ensuring full contact and that seams/butt joints are tight.
- Temporarily tape the seal in place with masking tape or use clamps if needed to maintain pressure while the adhesive cures.
- Allow adhesive to cure per the product instructions (often 24 hours) before reattaching trim or operating windows. Inspect for any gaps and touch up with adhesive if required.
