Instructions:
- Remove any old weatherstrip: carefully pry out remaining seal and clips using a trim tool or flat screwdriver to avoid damaging the groove or chrome.
- Clean the trim groove thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or solvent to remove old adhesive, dirt, and grease. Allow to dry.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip into the groove to confirm orientation and length. Trim excess material if necessary, leaving a small overlap for final seating.
- If the application calls for adhesive, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the groove following the adhesive manufacturer's instructions.
- Press the weatherstrip into the groove starting at one end and working toward the other. Use firm hand pressure and a rubber mallet or cloth-wrapped block to seat the seal evenly without tearing.
- Secure ends and any overlaps with masking tape or spring clamps until adhesive sets (if used). Wipe away any excess adhesive immediately.
- Re-check fit around the full length to ensure the seal is continuous and properly aligned with the chrome beltline. Adjust as needed.
- Allow adhesive to cure per instructions before closing doors or exposing to moisture. Inspect for gaps and perform a water/noise test to confirm a proper seal.
