Complete weatherstrip seal kit engineered for vehicles equipped with a weatherstrip trim groove and chrome beltlines. This kit secures and aligns beltline seals and trim, preventing water intrusion, reducing wind noise, and protecting interior panels and chrome from corrosion. Durable, OEM-style sealing profiles and resilient rubber compounds restore factory fit and finish while remaining easy to install for restoration or maintenance projects. Designed for 1971 models with weatherstrip trim groove and chrome beltlines (CWK 1111 71 PDS) — verify fitment for your exact make and model before ordering.
Features:
- Fitment: Designed for 1971 models with a weatherstrip trim groove and chrome beltlines (CWK 1111 71 PDS) — confirm vehicle compatibility.
- Premium rubber compound resists ozone, UV and temperature cracking for long-lasting sealing performance.
- Restores proper seal and alignment between door/window openings and chrome beltlines to prevent leaks and wind noise.
- Profiles match original factory shapes for accurate fit and authentic appearance during restorations.
- Simple installation with snap-in or adhesive application depending on vehicle — eliminates trimming guesswork.
- Durable construction suitable for restoration, routine maintenance, or replacement of worn weatherstrips.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 1–2 hours (per side/assembly, depending on vehicle and experience)
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and open the door or remove the trim section where the weatherstrip will be replaced.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip and any retainers or clips. Use a plastic trim tool or a wrapped screwdriver to avoid damaging chrome trim.
- Clean the weatherstrip channel and adjacent metal thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or a suitable solvent to remove old adhesive, grease, and debris. Allow to dry.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip along the channel to confirm orientation and fit. Trim excess length only if necessary, following the kit’s fitment notes.
- If adhesive is required, apply an even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or to the back of the seal as recommended by the adhesive manufacturer. Allow tack time if specified.
- Press the seal into the groove, starting at one end and working toward the other. Use a rubber mallet or block of wood to seat the seal evenly without distorting the profile.
- Reinstall any chrome beltline trim, clips, or retainers. Use masking tape to hold the seal in place while adhesive cures if needed.
- Wipe away any excess adhesive promptly with solvent. Allow full adhesive cure time before exposing the area to moisture or closing the door repeatedly.
- Inspect the installed seal for continuous contact along the channel and make minor adjustments as needed. Test for leaks or wind noise after cure.
