A complete weatherstrip seal kit designed for models equipped with a weatherstrip trim groove, CWK 1111 51. This kit replaces worn or missing channel seals to secure trim, align panels, and protect the interior from water, dust, and wind noise. Made from durable, weather-resistant rubber compounds with precise profiles to restore factory fit and finish, the kit delivers long-lasting sealing performance, corrosion prevention, and improved cabin quietness. Engineered for straightforward installation, it’s ideal for restoration and maintenance projects where reliable sealing and ease of use matter.
Features:
- Fits models equipped with a weatherstrip trim groove (verify groove style and part number before ordering).
- High-quality, weather-resistant rubber compound resists cracking, shrinking, and UV degradation.
- Restores proper trim alignment while preventing water intrusion, dust, and wind noise.
- Designed as a complete replacement kit for restoration or maintenance projects.
- Flexible profile that compresses for a secure seal and consistent panel fit.
- Easy to trim and install with common hand tools; adhesive-ready where required.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 45-90 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and work in a well-lit, dry area. Gather tools and the new seal kit.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip: pry trim away gently with a plastic trim tool and pull the old seal from the groove. Cut into sections if needed to remove trapped pieces.
- Clean the groove/channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or an approved cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt, and grease. Allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the trim groove to confirm orientation and length. Trim excess with a razor or utility knife for a precise fit.
- If required, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the groove or the weatherstrip as specified by the adhesive instructions.
- Press the new seal into the groove starting at one end and work along the length, ensuring the profile seats fully and consistently. Use firm hand pressure or a roller to set the seal.
- Wipe away any excess adhesive immediately with a clean rag and cleaner. Reinstall any trim pieces removed earlier and verify panel alignment.
- Allow adhesive to cure per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions before exposing the seal to moisture or driving at high speeds.
