Instructions:
- Remove the old weatherstrip: gently pry out the old seal and any retained clips or adhesive residue.
- Clean the mounting surface thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or adhesive cleaner; remove dirt, grease, and old adhesive.
- Dry-fit the new weatherstrip along the mounting flange to confirm length and orientation; trim excess with scissors or a utility knife if necessary.
- If recommended, apply primer to the mounting surface and/or back of the seal per adhesive manufacturer instructions.
- Apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the mounting flange or back of the seal where indicated.
- Position the new weatherstrip and press it firmly into place. Use masking tape to hold sections while adhesive sets if needed.
- Work in short sections, smoothing the seal and ensuring tight contact at corners and joints; use a rubber mallet or roller for even seating if desired.
- Allow adhesive to cure per the manufacturer's recommended time before closing doors or exposing to moisture.
