A complete weatherstrip seal kit designed for models without a weatherstrip trim groove and for vehicles with non-metal framed door glass. This kit provides a precise seal around the door glass to stop water intrusion, reduce wind noise and vibration, and protect interior trim from moisture damage. Made for restoration and replacement projects, the kit delivers durable, weather-resistant performance and is engineered for a near-original fit while remaining straightforward to install for DIYers and pros alike.
Features:
- Fits models without a weatherstrip trim groove and with non-metal framed door glass.
- Constructed from weather-resistant rubber compound for long-lasting sealing performance.
- Seals door glass to prevent water leaks, reduce wind noise, and minimize vibration.
- Designed for restoration and replacement applications to restore factory appearance and function.
- Easy to install with basic hand tools; moldable and compressible for a secure fit.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30–90 minutes per door (1–2 hours for a full set, depending on experience)
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a flat surface, open the door, and lower the window (if applicable and safe to do so).
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip by pulling it away and using a plastic trim tool or flathead screwdriver to release any clips or adhesive. Save any reusable clips.
- Clean the mounting channel and surrounding surfaces thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or adhesive remover to remove dirt, old adhesive and oils. Allow surfaces to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the door edge and around the window opening to confirm orientation and fit. Trim excess if necessary, following the kit’s guidelines.
- If the kit requires adhesive, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the mounting channel or the weatherstrip flange per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
- Starting at one end (typically the front top corner), press the weatherstrip into the channel and work your way around the door opening. Use gentle, even pressure to seat the seal. Reinstall any clips or fasteners as you go.
- Use masking tape to hold the weatherstrip in place while adhesive cures, if adhesive was used. If needed, warm the weatherstrip lightly with a heat gun or hair dryer to make it more pliable for corners and curves.
- Cycle the door and window several times to ensure proper alignment and sealing. Make minor adjustments where necessary and trim any excess material.
- Allow adhesive to fully cure per product instructions before exposing to moisture or highway speeds.
