Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and open/remove any trim or interior panels necessary to access the rear window perimeter and beltline area.
- Carefully remove old weatherstrip and any retained adhesive or sealant using a utility knife and adhesive remover; avoid scratching paint or chrome.
- Clean the mating surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry; ensure surfaces are free of rust, dirt, and old adhesive.
- Test-fit new weatherstrip pieces along the window opening and beltline to confirm orientation and fit before applying adhesive.
- Apply a continuous bead or manufacturer-recommended pattern of weatherstrip adhesive to the mounting surface (or to the weatherstrip per adhesive instructions).
- Press the weatherstrip into place starting at one corner and working around the opening; use light, even pressure and masking tape or clamps to hold sections while adhesive sets.
- Trim any excess material with a utility knife for a neat finish and ensure corners and joints are seated and aligned with chrome beltline.
- Allow adhesive to cure per the adhesive maker's instructions (typically 30 minutes to several hours) before reassembling trim and testing for water-tightness.
- Reinstall any removed trim or interior panels and perform a final inspection; test by spraying water around the sealed area to verify no leaks.
