Plastic trim removal tool
Phillips or flat-head screwdriver (as required for clips)
Cleaning solvent (isopropyl alcohol)
Clean lint-free cloth
Masking tape
Adhesive or double-sided automotive tape (if required)
Rubber mallet or soft-faced hammer (optional)
Instructions:
Park on a level surface and work on one side at a time. Protect surrounding paint with masking tape.
Carefully remove the old beltline molding using a plastic trim removal tool and any necessary screwdrivers to disengage clips or fasteners.
Clean the mounting surface thoroughly with cleaning solvent to remove dirt, adhesive residue, and wax; allow to dry completely.
Test-fit the new inner and outer pieces in their positions to confirm orientation and fit before final installation.
If supplied clips are used, align the molding and press firmly until clips snap into place. If adhesive is required, apply automotive-grade double-sided tape or recommended adhesive to the molding backing per adhesive instructions.
Align and press the molding along the beltline, working from one end to the other to ensure full contact; use a rubber mallet with a soft cloth if gentle persuasion is needed.
Reinstall any removed fasteners and trim pieces. Clean off fingerprints and allow adhesive to cure per manufacturer recommendations before driving.
