Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface and roll the window up fully.
- Carefully remove the old molding: use a trim tool to pry away clips or gently lift adhesive-backed pieces. Remove any screws or fasteners if present.
- Clean the mounting surface thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or an approved adhesive cleaner to remove dirt, wax, and residue. Allow to dry.
- Dry-fit each molding piece to check alignment and orientation. Confirm left/right positions and that clips or mounting holes line up.
- If adhesive-backed tape is provided or required, apply adhesion promoter to the cleaned surface and to the tape backing per product instructions.
- Peel backing from adhesive tape or prepare clips, then position the molding against the beltline. Start at one end and press firmly along the length to seat clips or adhesive.
- Reinstall any screws or trim fasteners removed earlier. Use masking tape to hold pieces in place for 15–30 minutes if needed to ensure full bond.
- Inspect the installed molding for gaps or misalignment. Trim any excess material carefully and clean the surrounding area. Allow adhesive to cure per manufacturer recommendations before driving.
