Rubber mallet
Masking tape
Cleaner (isopropyl alcohol) and rag
Silicone spray or window lubricant
Gloves and safety glasses
Instructions:
Prepare the workspace and disconnect the negative battery terminal if power windows are present.
Remove the interior door panel and any trim required to access the beltline area and window regulator—keep fasteners organized.
Carefully lower or secure the window (if applicable) so the channel area is accessible; use masking tape to hold the glass if needed.
Remove old beltline molding and glass run channel pieces along with any remaining clips or adhesive. Clean the mounting surfaces with isopropyl alcohol.
Inspect and, if needed, replace or install new metal clips on the door edge at factory mounting locations. Ensure clips are seated and aligned.
Slide the new glass run channel into the door opening and align it with the beltline molding location. Apply a light coating of silicone spray to the channel to ease glass movement.
Position the inner beltline molding over the clips and press firmly until each clip engages. Use a rubber mallet with a block to seat the molding evenly if needed.
Cycle the window slowly to confirm smooth operation and correct seating in the new channels. Adjust clip positions if binding or gaps are present.
Trim any excess material and reinstall the door panel and trim pieces. Reconnect the battery and perform a final functional and leak/noise check.
