Instructions:
- Verify part number WFB 1130 73 and confirm this molding is compatible with your vehicle (note: does NOT fit Silverado/Sierra models).
- Open the rear gate and protect surrounding paint with masking tape where needed.
- Carefully pry out the old molding using a plastic trim tool and flathead screwdriver to avoid damaging the gate; remove any retaining clips.
- Clean the mounting channel thoroughly with solvent and a clean rag to remove dirt, adhesive and corrosion; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new molding to the gate to check alignment and any required trimming.
- If trimming is necessary, cut the molding to the proper length with a fine-tooth hacksaw or Dremel, deburr cut edges.
- Starting at one end, press the new molding into the channel, engaging clips or flanges evenly; use a rubber mallet or block of wood to gently seat it without distorting the profile.
- Reinstall any fasteners or trim pieces removed earlier, inspect the seal and alignment, and make minor adjustments as needed.
- Close and open the gate a few times to ensure proper clearance and retention. Re-check after a short test drive and retighten or reseat if necessary.
