Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 60-120 minutes (both doors)
Instructions:
- Prepare the work area and lower the window glass (if applicable) to access the old seals.
- Carefully remove the old glassruns, beltline and door seals using a trim tool and small screwdriver; retain any fasteners you plan to reuse.
- Clean the channel and surrounding metal thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or an appropriate cleaner to remove dirt, adhesive and debris; allow to dry.
- Test-fit each new piece to ensure correct orientation and fit before applying any adhesive.
- If adhesive is recommended, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or the seal per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
- Insert the new glassrun and door seal into the channel, pressing firmly along the full length to seat the profile. Use masking tape or clamps to hold pieces in place while adhesive sets, if used.
- Reinstall any retainers or trim pieces removed earlier and carefully raise/lower the glass to verify smooth operation and correct alignment.
- Allow adhesive to cure per product recommendations (if used), then re-check seals for gaps, adjust as needed, and clean up the work area.
