Instructions:
- Open the door and carefully remove the old weatherstrip, using a trim tool or flathead screwdriver to pry out any retainers or clips.
- Clean the weatherstrip channel and door flange thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive, dirt, and oils; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new seal along the door edge to ensure correct orientation (this part is for the left-hand door).
- If required by the vehicle, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or to the seal mounting surface following the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
- Start at the top hinge area and press the seal into the channel, working toward the latch end and then around corners. Use a rubber mallet or roller to seat the seal evenly into the channel.
- Trim any excess material with scissors or a utility knife for a neat fit; avoid cutting too short near corners or latch areas.
- Allow adhesive to cure per the adhesive instructions (if used), then gently close the door and check for proper alignment, compression, and latch operation.
- Make final adjustments as needed to ensure a uniform compression and weather-tight seal.
